Ryan McGinley - Everybody knows this is nowhere

The people I went to meet decided to leave before going into the gallery. @ Team (gallery inc.). I had walked 45 minutes from Chelsea after work to see this show so I was obviously going to grit my teeth and walk in.

Entrance to the gallery. Potential fire hazard.

Friends Kate Gordon and Pete Voelker
Naked Hipsters. Jumping, trawling their arms, maneuvering their bodies in awkward positions, embracing gender, and their hair, most sans owl.
Crowd inside TEAM.
Skateboard inside TEAM.
Tatted model and Ryan McGinley.
A repeating model of Ryan's and acquaintance of MICA, her name slips my mind.

Burning Desire - MICHAEL MAZZEO GALLERY, Chelsea

Marina Berio, Charcol on paper; the intern seemed to think that this is somehow a print of some sort, I will go with that unless someone proves both of us wrong.

Davide Cantoni, burned paper.
Caleb Charland - nice guy, genuinely interested in opinions of his work.
This is the work of Eric William Carroll, great guy that I work for at the Todd Eberle Studio. This work is beautiful, and suggests a ton about our desire to photograph the sunset. Each small photograph is either painted of screen printed with 'checkerboard' changing in color to give the illusion of one massive sunset out of smaller photographs of the same subject matter. This piece was in the front of the space, no doubt because the director found it appropriate with the show's title.

CEDRIC DELSAUX: NOUS RESTERONS SUR TERRE - Bonni Benrubi Gallery

Rafael Soldi, Chris Simpson, Brandy Godsil, and Yours truly.
French born.
Forgive me for not rotating this image, but I am on a blogrush. Just wanted to state that Bonni Benrubi Gallery has podcast of their shows for some reason. I find this to be a little.. Precious.

Erma Yost - NoHo Gallery - Chelsea

Erma Yost is a wife to my friend and photographer Leon Yost from Jersey City. I had previously known both of their work through a friend who had collected their work, hung in their living room. One day I was working at Barry Friedman Ltd. I looked at the Gallery Guide and recognized her work in the book, as there was a published thumbnail of it in the margin. I emailed Leon about it and realized that the work was a block away. I told Leon I would try and see it, and sure enough after work I went over there. I met up with Leon who seemed to be very surprised that I came to see it so quickly. (less than an hour after I emailed him)
I do not personally know Erma, but what I can say about her work is that it is supremely beautiful, using an eclectic mix of contemporary knowledge and traditional values of decorative arts in her intricately crafted felt, stitched, and beaded works.
Occasionally in the work, you will find bits and pieces of naturally occurring materials; bird skulls and shells, which add to the delicate nature of her felt works.

Lesley Dill - Paper and Bronze - George Adams Gallery

Lesley Dill at George Adams Gallery in Chelsea. Dill is an alumnus of the graduate program at MICA in 1980. At MICA she most recently shared her experiences of her ongoing project, Divide Light, along with a curated exhibition of work in the Brown Center. (from what I remember)
